No Experience, No Job; No Job, No Experience.

It's that time of year: Back to School!

Or, as I tend to think about it, New Year 2.0. Every fall seems like a fresh start, a time to get your life back on track after the lazy, hazy days of summer - a time when even your best intentions seem to get derailed by patio time, beach trips, and vacation plans.

But, for a lot of students who graduated in May, or are returning to University, the fall means getting serious about their job search: looking for co-ops, internships, or their first post-grad position.

Ideally, every graduating student would land a position in their field as soon as their diploma is handed over - you know, a job that is actually related to what they've been studying for the past 4+ years (and spent $40K+ to learn about).

But, unfortunately, that's rarely the case. As someone who worked as a Barista and a glorified data processor at an insurance company when I finished University, I know the struggle is real.

If only I had known then, what I know now, my job search strategy and resume would have looked radically different.

So, to help those students feeling invisible in their job search (and possibly feeling like their degree is useless), I created the video below (filmed during one my Live Lunch and Learn Sessions).

The key message: you have more experience than you think you do. Trust me!

I'm going to show you how to uncover impressive accomplishments and resume highlights from your years' of higher education, and where to put them on a resume to show employers you have the experience they desire.

No more clinging to the "No Experience, No Job; No Job, No Experience" myth.
